Create in me a forest for a heart, O God

I am haunted by so many faces and corresponding names carved into the inside of my chest, and I can feel them rattling around when I breathe, fluttering in my laughter, and aching in sobs that have never been so silently sorrowful.

Each of them are either too close or too far away. Some are both. It's beautiful and agonizing, but perhaps that is how I've remained afloat thusfar.

I worry that I'll soon run out of space for their ghosts to call home, but another always walks through the walls.

O God, help me

God, help me Love them the way You do
